| Cancer people need roots, a place or even a state of mind, that they can call their own. They need a safe harbor, a refuge, to retreat for solitude. Imagination, sensitivity, and the nurturing instinct characterize this sign. Cancerians are generally gentle and kind people, unless they are hurt. They become vindictive and sharp spoken. They forgive easily, but rarely forget. Cancerians tend to be affectionate, passionate, and even possessive at times. As parents, they might be over-protective. As spouses or significant others, they may smother their mates with love and good intentions. Emotionally, Cancers act and react in the same way the crab moves .. sideways. They avoid confrontations and usually are not comfortable in discussing what they feel. They are reluctant to reveal who they are and sometimes hide behind their protective urges, preferring to tend to the needs of others rather than to their own needs. They are intuitive and sometimes quite psychic. Experience flows through them emotionally. Cancers are often moody and always changeable; their interests and social circles shift constantly. Once a Cancer trusts you, however, he lets you in his most private world. This sign is more recognizable than some of the others because of the roundness of the face. The entire body, in fact, may be rounded, though not necessarily overweight. Cancerians benefit from water sports, a day at the beach, or anything having to do with water. If they have hangups about their earlier lives, particularly childhood, hypnosis might be a good way to dislodge and work through the past. It is important that a Cancer doesn't cling to past hurts and injuries, as these emotions eventually lodge in the body and create health problems. |
