The Fire Type:
The energy of Fire is radiant. Your energy is
flowing and you are excitable, enthusiastic,
impatient, spontaneous, quick to react,
self-centered, and overly objective. Your natural
high spirits give you self-esteem. Strength comes
in spurts. A strong desire for self-expression and
the need for freedom are your dominate
characteristics.

Being cooped up depletes your life force; you
need vigorous physical activity during the
daytime, preferably out in the sunshine, with as
much contact with the sun as possible. Winter in
cold climates is hard on you, but sufficient
outdoor activity during the hot summer months
will allow you to store your elemental energy
against the gloom of indoor winter months. Your
energy goes down when the sun does. Early to
bed, early to rise is a good health habit. Illness,
which can be brought on by overexcitement and
a lack of proper rest, is difficult for you as you
dislike being confined and inactive. You need to
develop patience with illness
or infirmity; premature return to activity can bring on a relapse. Restore your
balance by incorporating sunlight into your healing process. You are prone to the
syndrome known as SAD, or seasonal affective disorder, caused by lack of sunlight.
Light treatment can help.

You tend to suffer from headaches; injuries resulting from impulsive behavior;
heart problems due to overwork and over-activity; and chronic back pain, which is
often the product of lack of rest.

When you are ill or recovering, other Fire Types are healing for you because they
replenish your energy. Air types are good, but they can tire you with their endless
mental speculations. Avoid Earth and Water types; Earth smothers you; Water
drenches your Fire.

Some flower remedies that will help to renew you are Heather, for self-centeredness;
Impatiens, for lack of patience; Hornbeam, for mental and physical exhaustion;
and Vervain, for tension and stress.
The energy of Earth is related closely to the
physical plane and senses. Your energy is stable
and you are patient, reliable, hardworking,
commonsensical, practical, and stubborn. You
have extraordinary stamina. The desire for
concrete results and the self-discipline needed to
get them are your dominant characteristics.

You need to be in physical contact with your
element. You need to get your hands and feet
into the soil, and to handle growing things and
the solid basic material of the Earth, such as
rocks and minerals. Crystal therapy works
wonders for Earth Types.

Though you have great physical stamina, you
are not inclined to physical exertion, and you
need to push yourself to exercise regularly. You
need to go at your own pace, especially in the
matter of sleeping and waking. Being rushed can
make you ill, literally, or delay recovery. When
ill, you
The Earth Type:
recuperate slowly, but steadily and thoroughly. Pragmatic even when ill, you are a
serene patient if you are convinced the treatment will produce concrete results.

You tend to have throat problems, to get colds with sore throats as a result of
emotional congestion or pushing your endurance level beyond its limit by
continuing to work long past your time to rest. You are prone to digestive upsets
resulting from nerves and your desire for perfection. Bones can be brittle .. women
especially need to guard against osteoporosis .. and teeth can cause problems.
Regular dental checkups are a must. Skin, too, is sensitive and can become dry and
scaly if not cared for properly. Restore balance by cultivating your sensuous side,
not only when ill but as a preventative measure. Massage and scented body lotions
are good choices.

When ill or recovering, associating with Fire people energizes you, and you find
Water Types soothing. Other Earth Types can make the atmosphere too heavy;
avoid Air Types, whose lack of common sense annoys you.

Some flower remedies that will help to renew you are Beech, to combat
self-criticism; Chicory, for possessiveness; Mustard, for melancholy; and Oak, for
heavy responsibilities.
