If you chose "only" words from a single list, then you are a pure type (this is rare). Most people will have at least a few words from at least two elemental categories. To determine your type, first count the words from each list that you have placed into each column. The highest number of words from any one list in your "always" column determines your priority type.
For example, if you chose twenty words from the "fire" category and placed them in the "always" column but chose fewer than twenty words from any or all of the other categories for this column, then you are a basic Fire Type. Having determined your primary type, next count the words in your "often" column. If the highest number of these words comes from the same element as those in your "always" column, then more emphasis is placed upon the primary type.
If, however, an equal or greater number of words comes from a different list, you have a secondary type. For example, if you are a basic Fire Type but the highest number of words in the "often" category is from the Water list, you are a mixed Fire-Water type.
The next step is to determine if you have a missing or inferior (de-emphasized) element. To do this, follow the same procedure outlined above and check the "never" category, which will indicate a missing element. Then check the "rarely" category, which will indicate an inferior element.
A missing or de-emphasized element means that there is an imbalance; ideally, all four elements would be represented. When this occurs (and it is common), you can "add" the missing element by consciously seeking to tune in to it. For example, if Earth is missing, then you can add earth-grounding by planting a garden, working with the hands, or just sitting on the ground and tuning into Mother Nature. Similarly, you can add Water by going to the seaside or lakeshore, taking long soaks in the tub, or walking in the rain.
Sometimes, we get elementally out of balance. This might be the case when a Water Type is forced to go on a camping trip in the mountains, or conversely, when an Air Type has to spend time in the moist air of a lakeside or beside the ocean. When the stress of ordinary living causes an imbalance to occur, illness can follow. Your elemental balance provides important clues to the maintenance of health and the means of healing. Allowing ourselves to be "in our element" is a wonderful cure. |
